Ph.D., Industrial/Organizational Psychology; MBA

Gary has worked in the field of industrial & organizational psychology for more than 20 years as a corporate executive, a consultant, and a researcher. Gary earned his doctorate and master's degrees in I/O psychology from Tulane University and his MBA from NYU's prestigious executive program at the Stern Business School. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Iowa. Gary is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of I/O Psychologists (SIOP).

Before joining Saville Consulting, Gary was an Executive Director in the Global Talent Management group at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. There he designed and developed talent management programs. He also developed assessment programs including executive assessments for General Managers, and assessment & development centers for the Marketing and Human Resources departments.

Prior to this, Gary worked for more than 12 years as a consultant with SHL USA, Inc. and was the Vice President of Consulting Services. Gary was responsible for large client engagements, typically with Fortune 100 and 500 companies. He managed and developed a wide range of programs to enhance worker productivity including competency modelling and job analysis (compliant with the Uniform Guidelines and Principles of Validation), 360 assessment programs, personnel selection and recruitment systems, executive assessment and coaching, job design and job evaluation, leadership training and development, performance management, climate and culture surveys, and talent management following merger and acquisition. Gary has worked with companies from many industries including airline, beverage, high tech, manufacturing and metal bending, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, utilities and power generation, insurance and financial services, retail, packaged food, as well as gaming and entertainment. Gary also has extensive experience working the various segments of the workforce, including sales and marketing, general management and executive, and production and entry-level workers.

As a researcher, Gary was a member of SHL's global product development team. He was responsible for the US standardization of the OPQ and ability tests, and he managed the Americanization of SHL's expert systems. Gary was responsible for development of SHL's Work Profiling System (WPS), a job analysis and person-job matching software application.

As a manager, Gary led the product development team as well as a team of consultants distributed throughout the US. He also managed the start-up of SHL's Chicago office and assisted with the acquisition and integration of an internet software company.

Finally, Gary managed the New Orleans office of Morris & McDaniel, Inc. There he conducted executive assessments and individual assessments for police and fire candidates. He provided statistical support for validation analysis of pre-employment tests for police and fire recruitment and for promotion program assessment centers. He also trained police cadets in stress management and handling mentally unstable persons.
